A comfortable stay in St Ives.
-
My husband and I picked the Beechwood for its location near to St Ives' beautiful beaches, and the renowned Carbis Bay beach. We were made to feel very welcome from the moment we arrived. The room was excellent, spotless, modern, etc. The proprietor was a mine of information about local things to see and do. We had a few drinks in the bar, which was great. We would certainly recommend the Beechwood to our friends, and hope to stay there again soon. Nearly forgot, the breakfast was excellent, with great service from the hosts.

We liked the comfort of the double bed and the breakfast was substantial. The receptionist provided information of where the beach, train station and bus was to get to St Ives. She also provided us with a train time table and taxi number.
The room was small and we had to unpack by placing our luggage on the bed. It felt claustrophobic so lessened my enjoyment of the stay. It was advertised on the board that it was a wifi hotspot but only worked when we were out of our room. The parking facilities were tight and not easy to get out. There were no small extra touches in the room to make it a luxury experience as commented by other reviewers. The bathroom was pokey, the sink was only big enough to wash your hands. We were glad to leave after one night.

comfortable stay with frendley staff, not to bad on the locatoin side.
room was a littel small.

It was nothing special , We stayed in small double , was ok for one nite but wouldn't want to stay longer , only just enough room to walk round the bed ! Everything was clean and well presented though , the shower was small and not that great but have had worse ! So ok I guess .
-
Located just 5 minutes away from the beach. Excellent location. Brought my 3 month old daughter with us and we had a lovely time.
-
Room was very clean and comfortable and close to,staff was excellent, location was good, close to beach and nice clean with greenery galore around. Breakfast was hot and service was efficient and courteous.
-
Breakfast was very good
The blinds were bright and didn't shade the sun in the morning, woke us early. Low water pressure in the shower
-
The bed was comfortable and the decor of a good standard, breakfast excellent.
Shower room was very small and in need of some repair/resealing

I dont know who rated the Beechwood as a four star b&b, but it simply isn'T. The coment about the reception hatch is spot on. Not very welcoming when one door of a small hatch about two feet square opens and you're asked 'do you want to pay now or when you leave?' The shower cubicle in our room was filthy, particularly the shower hose and the toilet seat slid side to side. I didnt want to put my hands underneath to try and fix it myself. The bottom of the net curtains were mouldy.

I felt very relaxed at the hotel...The proprietor was very friendly and helpful and I would stay there again if they gave discount for single occupancy.
-
Easy to get into St Ives, bus stop just down road, shop next door
Strange reception hatch
-
Convenience of access into St Ives.

We went to visit St. Ives and the hotel was perfect for this. The bus stop and train station were nearby, also half an hour walk along a coastal path. Hotel was fine, breakfast was fine, all fine.

Nice location, just a bus ride away from the town and the owners were very helpful and answered questions we had. Will be back next year!
